What is Juvéderm?
Juvéderm is a gel filler containing a substance called hyaluronic acid. As you get older, the amount of hyaluronic acid in your skin may start to drop and your skin will lose volume. This may create unwanted fine lines and wrinkles on your face and neck. Juvéderm can specifically help plump up your lips, nose, and mouth.
Is Juvéderm safe to inject into my skin?
The hyaluronic acid in the gel filler naturally occurs in the skin, so you are just replacing the substance in your skin. It is safe to use, but if you have any questions you can always consult your doctor.
What is the procedure like?
Each Juvéderm treatment lasts around 15-30 minutes. You may need multiple treatments depending on the results you want to see. It is usually not painful, but a numbing gel can be used if necessary. Pain, redness, swelling, bumps, and tenderness are all common at the injection site after a procedure. After the procedure, you should avoid exposure to the sun or heat and strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours.
What should I expect after a treatment?
Each Juvéderm treatment has minimal discomfort and downtime. Some mild swelling may happen after the treatment. You will start to see the results very quickly after each treatment.
