Microdermabrasion uses a powerful device to vacuum microcrystals across the skin’s surface. Microdermabrasion revitalizes dull skin and reduces the appearance of large pores, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, mild pigment irregularities and age spots.
What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion uses a powerful device to vacuum microcrystals of aluminum oxide crystals across the skin’s surface. Aluminum oxide is a natural, sand-like material that exfoliates the uppermost layer of dead skin cells on the skin’s epidermis. Microdermabrasion treatments are extremely comfortable, safe and effective.
Is the treatment safe?
Microdermabrasion treatments are extremely safe. They are the is the least invasive dermatological procedure. It has the fewest side effects and it is effective on all skin types.
What results can I expect?
Your skin will be extremely smooth and it will have a fresh, healthy glow following the microdermabrasion treatment. In one session, you can expect a skin texture improvement to dull, flaky or congested skin. After several treatments, you will see improvements in respect to fine lines and wrinkles, age/sun spots and scars.
How often can I have a treatment?
Treatments can be done every 10-30 days, depending on your skin.
What is the process for a microdermabrasion treatment?
First, we will cleanse the skin to remove any make-up and oils. Once the skin is dry, we perform the treatment. Clean crystals brush over your face, exfoliating the top layer of your skin. The dirty crystals are then collected in a bottle and disposed of. After the treatment, there will be residual crystals on your face which are brushed off. A cold, wet towel is applied to the face as well as a hydrating mask if necessary. Finally, we apply a moisturizer with SPF.
What type of skin care should I use following my treatment?
It is very important that you use a strong SPF for 3-5 days following your treatment. Once we exfoliate the top layer of skin, you are more susceptible to the sun’s harmful rays. Of course, it is very important to use quality skin care each day.
